    5. Teorik eğitim : Denizde can ve mal emniyeti, yelken teorisi, rüzgar kuvvetini, yönünü kavrama, seyir
    6. kuralları, terimler, rotalar.
    7. Pratik eğitim: Optimisti tanıma, donatma, denizci düğümleri, tekneye hakim olma, seyir teknikleri, tramola – kavança
    8. atma, dümen hakimiyeti, dümensiz tekne kullanımı, bedensel müdahalenin tekneye seyir etkileri, farklı rüzgar yönlerine göre
    9. Ekipman : Optimist tekne, yelken donanımı ve can yeleği MDYİK tarafından verilir.
    10. Eğitimler sertifikalı antrenörler ve güvenlik botları refakatinde yapılır.
    11. Kontenjan uygulaması : Her dönemin eğitim grubuna en çok 25 kursiyer kabul edilecektir.
